This is the latest community event held by East LA rising that brings people together during a time traditionally centred around family and togetherness.
This has seen East LA Rising provide a cooked Thanksgiving meal for local residents, creating a welcoming space for anyone who might not have family nearby or who simply want to celebrate the holiday together.
Beyond the shared meal, our Young Leaders also created and delivered food baskets filled with hot food to donate, ensuring that people across the community can enjoy a festive meal at home. This annual tradition has become a beloved part of East LA Risings support to their community.
Manchester City and Midea America were proud to contribute to this year’s celebration by bringing a blend of engaging soccer activities and essential home appliances to support the event.
City in the Community (CITC) coaches delivered a full program of soccer drills, workshops, and mini tournaments designed to encourage teamwork, leadership, and community spirit.
Throughout the day, Young Leaders had the chance not only to improve their skills on the field but also to build confidence, connect with their community, and to take on responsibilities. These sessions created a supportive, festive atmosphere while empowering young people with tools they can carry forward into their communities.
Midea America further supported the event by donating a range of appliances, including air fryers and other essential kitchen tools.
Beyond Thanksgiving, these thoughtfully designed, practical home appliances will also help the Young Leaders throughout the year to practice healthier cooking habits, continuing our commitment to supporting young people by helping create healthier lives through football.
Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude and thanks, and that spirit was felt throughout the entire event. Together Midea America, Manchester City and East LA Rising helped make sure everyone felt safe and included during the holiday.
