City supporters talk about their experience of following the Club while also being a member of the LGBTQ+ community.

In a candid series of conversations, supporters looked back on their initial memories of following the Club, from their first match on the terraces to their childhood heroes who donned the famous sky blue shirt.

The interviews then turned towards iconic moments which they’ve experienced as a City fan, from Sergio Aguero’s famous title-winning strike in 2012, to Jamie Pollock’s infamous own goal in 1998.

It’s safe to say that City supporters have seen it all in the past 30 years, and that’s reflected in a diverse offering of interesting and insightful memories that each of our supporters share.

City were once again proud to celebrate Manchester Pride in August 2023, including our annual pride-raising flag ceremony and involvement during the parade itself through the city centre.

With this in mind, each of the interviews also touch on the welcoming environment that the Club endeavour to promote for each of our supporters on a matchday, as well as the progress that still needs to be made across the footballing landscape in the years to come.

Official Supporter’s Club branches such as Canal Street Blues - our LGBTQ+ branch - have been essential in that, and several of the conversations mention the positive impact that joining them and other groups have had on their overall experience.
