City history was created on this day in 2017…

As we searched for UEFA Champions League knockout qualification against Napoli, Sergio Aguero became our all-time top-scorer by netting in the 4-2 success.

It was the Argentine’s 178th strike for the Club, which saw him climb above Eric Brook’s tally of 177.

After falling behind to the Italian giants, goals from Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones turned the tie on its head, before Jorginho again drew the score level from the penalty spot.

In a fast-paced and electric encounter, Aguero then stepped up to write his name into City folklore, firing home from 18-yards to nudge us in front for the second time.

We weren’t finished there though as Raheem Sterling secured three points at the, recently renamed, Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in stoppage time.
