The Norwegian celebrated his 23rd birthday while on the Club’s pre-season tour of Asia, which includes friendlies against Yokohama F. Marinos and Bayern Munich in Japan, and a clash with Atletico Madrid in South Korea.
Haaland was instrumental in our Treble success last year, grabbing 52 goals in 53 appearances in all competitions.
But Dutch international Ake says the forward is determined to take his game to new heights in the coming months.
HOW TO FOLLOW CITY’S 2023 ASIA TOUR
Speaking during a pre-match press conference ahead of our friendly with Yokohama F. Marinos, the defender said: “He handles [the pressure] very well.
“It must be difficult sometimes to get the attention he gets. But he is a very humble person.
“He is only 23 and he achieved all these things in his career - but he is hungry and ready for more.
“He pushes himself to get better numbers. That’s what great players have - that mentality - but his character keeps him on the ground.
“It doesn’t change him too much.”
