However, he turned finisher just after the half hour mark when Jeremy Doku cut in from the left and found De Bruyne on the edge of the box.
There, the No.17 took one touch and curled it inside the far post beyond the diving Matz Sels to the delight of all in the Etihad.
To win this award, De Bruyne just about edged out Savinho‘s strike at Leicester City in our fan vote.
