The voting is now open for December’s Nissan Goal of the Month and it’s a thrilling list of goals to choose from!

Pep Guardiola’s side took part in a whopping nine fixtures across three competitions and scored a staggering 21 goals to top off a historic 2023.

For Gareth Taylor’s squad, the Women’s team won both our Barclays Women’s Super League fixtures before a short winter break to see City move to second in the league standings.

With so many goals scored by players in blue, it was another tall task to narrow down a list of finalists for the December Goal of the Month vote but you can view the best strikes from the month in the video above.

And vote for your favourite below!

Lauren Hemp (second goal) v Aston Villa

Carla Ward’s side took an early lead through a Danielle Turner strike but City fought hard for vital points in the title race. Lauren Hemp drew City level before her second, nominated in the vote, completed the comeback at the Joie Stadium.

Chloe Kelly’s pinpoint corner kick was met by skipper Alex Greenwood at the back post. Her header across goal was met by an outstretched Hemp foot at the opposite post which tapped the ball into the back of the net.

Bernardo Silva v Luton Town

Bernardo Silva showed experience and class as City fought to overcome a 1-0 deficit at Luton.

His first-time strike inspired a late comeback as his shot nestled beautifully into the bottom left corner before Jack Grealish confirmed victory at Kenilworth Road with an effort of his own three minutes later.

Jack Grealish v Luton Town

Speaking of, Grealish’s strike secured all three points on the road. Julian Alvarez drifted out to the right and opened up the Luton defence.

His low cross into the Luton box couldn’t be cleared and an on running Grealish at the back post tapped the ball home in style as it snuck between Thomas Kaminski’s legs.

Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw (first goal) v Everton

From frustration to celebrations. Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw had the opportunity to give City an early lead from the penalty spot but couldn’t convert. But that didn’t phase the striker who, moments later, dinked keeper Courtney Brosnan with a first-time finish from 18 yards out.

Phil Foden v Everton

City’s penultimate game of 2023 saw Guardiola’s side beat Everton 3-1. Jack Harrison gave the hosts the lead before Foden’s strike from outside the box was out of reach for Jordan Pickford. It was a stellar performance from Foden as he helped City pick up a vital three points as we chase league leaders Liverpool.

Bernardo Silva v Everton

Silva’s strike, City’s third, on the brink of full-time confirmed all three points on the road. Alvarez helped City regain possession in Everton’s third. Bernardo picked up the loose ball and it was another first-time left-footed strike from the Portuguese that sees his name feature twice in the voting this month.

The sublime strike from the edge of the box floated over an out-of-position Pickford for his fifth goal of the season.

Julian Alvarez v Sheffield United

And to top off the list, City’s final goal of 2023, scored by Alvarez, completes our fantastic list of strikes. Foden and Oscar Bobb’s link-up on the left-hand side completely broke down Sheffield United’s defensive line to allow the Argentine to slot the ball home and help City secure a 2-0 win.
