The Nissan Goal of the Month vote for January is now open!

In what was an action-packed month for all of City’s teams, there was a swathe of spectacular strikes throughout the last 31 days.

And we’ve selected eight of the best which make up the candidates for January.

We’ve selected six goals from our men’s team and two from our women’s team – and here are the nominees…

Riyad Mahrez v Chelsea

A decisive strike in our 1-0 league victory at Stamford Bridge. The Algerian ace ghosted in at the far post to round off a well-worked City move which finished with Jack Grealish whipping an inch-perfect ball into the former’s path for him to tap home.

Phil Foden v Chelsea

In our second meeting with Graham Potter’s side in January, Foden finished off an electric move after Mahrez and Walker combined in the box, before the right-back crossed into the 22-year-old’s space for him to fire home from close range.

Jack Grealish v Manchester United

With the match in the balance, Grealish gave us a deserved lead at Old Trafford in what ultimately proved a frustrating 2-1 defeat. Kevin De Buryne burst into the box, beat his marker and dinked the ball across the face of goal for the winger to head home.

Filippa Angeldahl v Leicester

The Swede bagged her second goal of the season to secure Group B top spot in the Continental Cup ahead of the knockout stages. After a closely contested encounter with Leicester, Lauren Hemp’s electric run down the wing proved fruitful when he drilled cross was poked home by Angeldahl in injury time.

Riyad Mahrez v Chelsea

Our third goal against the London side in this list. Mahrez opened the scoring in our 4-0 FA Cup third round victory with a sublime whipped free-kick to beat Kepa Arrizabalaga from 25-yards.

Erling Haaland v Wolves

The type of goal City supporters have become happily accustomed too! Mahrez was at the heart of another on the list when he danced down the right wing, teed the ball up for De Bruyne who whipped an accurate cross to Erling Haaland who headed home superbly from close range.

Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw v Bristol City

The third goal from our 6-0 Conti Cup quarter-final victory over Bristol City. Lauren Hemp’s sumptuous ball into the box was powered home by Bunny who out leaped her marker to continue her sublime form in front of goal this term.

Nathan Ake v Arsenal

During the first meeting between City and Arsenal this season, Ake’s calm and composed finish into the bottom corner in the second half secured our progression in a tightly contested FA Cup fourth round tie.
