Matheus Nunes has praised City's away supporters for their 'incredible' support as Pep Guardiola's side claimed top spot in the Premier League with a 1-0 victory at Turf Moor.

Erling Haaland’s fifth minute opener proved to be enough to claim all three points in East Lancashire, taking us level with Arsenal on points and goal difference, but advancing beyond the Gunners with three more goals scored.

Rayan Cherki saw a strike superbly tipped onto the crossbar by Burnley goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, whilst Haaland also crashed an effort off the post in the second-half.

Nunes, who was solid at right-back to help preserve a clean sheet, reserved special praise for the superb support from the 2,000+ travelling City fans.

“We are used to playing every three days. It doesn’t matter what stadium, what competition we get into, we’re going to try to win,” began Nunes in his interview with City Studios.

“We knew it was going to be difficult. This is a difficult stadium.

“But also, I felt the support of the away fans a lot. The Cityzens were incredible today.

“It was a strong performance from our team. I like that.”

The Portuguese also spoke about how it feels to be top of the league for the first time since 21 August, looked ahead to the final stretch of the Premier League and spoke about his excitement for this Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final encounter with Southampton.
