Oleksandr Zinchenko says departing City captain Fernandinho is one of the best players he has ever played with.

The Brazilian called time on his City career following our dramatic 3-2 triumph over Aston Villa, which sealed a fourth Premier League title in five seasons.

During his nine years at the Etihad Stadium, our captain has claimed fifteen major honours, including five top flight titles.

And Zinchenko has highlighted some of Fernandinho‘s qualities following his final match in a City shirt, reflecting on the impact he had on the Ukrainian during the early years of his career.

“He’s the special one. I could talk about him for three days describing him without stopping,” he said.

“(Fernandinho is) one of the best players I’ve ever played with.

“He’s a special player and person for me as well because I’ve seen him since I was a kid at Shakhtar (Donetsk).

“The way he was playing and training, I know a lot of stories about him.

“There is one moment which showed me who Fernandinho is, when he broke his leg, everyone said it was finished for him but two years after he signed for City and the rest is history.”
