Oleksandr Zinchenko hopes that City can use the lessons from our 2-1 defeat to RB Leipzig to get back to winning ways in Saturday’s Premier League clash with Wolves.

A late header from Riyad Mahrez wasn’t enough to earn a share of the spoils in Germany, with goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Andre Silva seeing us fall to defeat in our final Champions League group match.

City still qualify for the knockout stages of Europe’s elite competition as Group A winners, but Guardiola’s men will be keen to put our result against RB Leipzig behind us as soon as possible.

With this in mind, Zinchenko insisted there’s nothing to be gained from dwelling on the setback, instead setting his sights on an improved performance at the weekend against Wolves.

“Everyone is disappointed because we didn’t get what we came for, but we need to move on, take the best from this game and do our best (moving forward).

“Even the first game was so tough, we knew this was a good team with quality players, we knew it’d be how it was tonight, unfortunately we lost but we need to react right.

“We knew it was going to be tough, (but) it’s a big achievement for the club to go through (to the knockout stages), especially in first place. We need to react quickly and move on.”
