Ferran Torres says he is happy to fill in as a forward in the absence of Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus.

The Spaniard played in a more central role in our 3-0 Champions League win over Greek side Olympiakos, and continued his fine form in front of goal by grabbing our opener just after the ten-minute mark.

His clever finish through the legs of Jose Sa means Torres has now scored three goals in three Group C games, as Pep Guardiola’s men maintained their 100% start to the new campaign under the Etihad lights.

And while he knows that playing as a centre forward is likely to only be a temporary fix, the 20-year-old is enjoying the chance to develop his game in a new position.

He said: “We know the position is for (Sergio) Aguero and (Gabriel) Jesus, (but) the manager tried me in that position as a striker.

“I’m very happy and comfortable to play there for the team.

“I’m very happy to score again in the Champions League but even more for the win, and hopefully I can keep scoring and winning.”
