After striking the post with a deflected effort just four minutes into the game, Cherki made sure to find the net with his next attempt, dribbling expertly beyond Gabriel and Declan Rice before stroking into the bottom corner.
Kai Havertz levelled just 107 seconds after the opener, but Erling Haaland swept in the winner after 65 minutes, latching onto O’Reilly’s cross to do what he does best inside the box.

The victory takes us three points behind the Gunners in the Premier League table with a game in hand.
In his interview with City Studios after the game, O’Reilly paid tribute to Cherki.
“It makes life easier for all of us when he can go out and do that magic.
“We all know how good of a player he is and when he can go and show it in these big games.
“He’s massive for all of us.
“I enjoyed it a lot. A great win, the crowd were amazing today. I’m buzzing with everything.”
O’Reilly also praised Haaland’s performance, touched on his personal form and looked forward to the remaining fixtures this season.
