Oscar Bobb has revealed how Norwegian compatriot Erling Haaland has proved a vital figure in helping him make the breakthrough from our Academy into being established as an integral part of City’s first team set-up.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder today put pen to paper on a new three-year contract, extending his stay at City through to the summer of 2029.

Bobb has already made a big impact for City this season, making 16 appearances in all competitions so far and scoring twice as well as providing two assists.

And in a special interview with mancity.com reflecting on his new deal and impressive progress this term, Oscar revealed how the help and advice of his Norwegian international team-mate Haaland had proved a key factor.

It helps a lot [having Erling in the set-up],” Oscar revealed.

“It’s nice to have him, to have someone to talk to, to ask for advice, everything.

“He’s achieved a lot of the things I dream of achieving so having him around, helping me develop and just helping me settle in this year, it’s helped me a lot.”

Bobb has already helped Pep Guardiola’s squad to win two trophies so far this season in the shape of the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

And he said the memory of those two special occasions had only intensified his desire to help City achieve even more success between now and the end of the season.

“Yes. Definitely. The first one was in August and it was the Super Cup and it was great. Playing in a top-level European competition is great. It gives you a different feeling to domestic games,” Bobb added.

“The Club World Cup was special. World Champions is crazy to say. But yes, I think for everyone who sees it, it’s so inspiring.”
