Guardiola has been managing the attacking midfielder’s minutes since the Belgian returned from a two-month injury lay-off.
KDB made substitute appearances against Sporting CP, Brighton, Tottenham, Feyenoord and Liverpool before being named in the starting XI for the clash with Forest.
And his boss couldn’t have been more thrilled to see him make one and score one in the victory over in-form Nuno Espirito Santo’s East Midlanders.
“I’m so happy for him,” said the manager.
“Last season was many months and this season as well. I’m so happy he’s back.
“He fought a lot. In respect to his physicality and minutes against Feyenoord was not good and that’s why I decided not to play at Anfield for the rhythm they play.
“But the minutes he played at Anfield were really good and today he played 75 fantastic minutes.”

Next up for the Blues is Crystal Palace on Saturday.
And Guardiola was asked about the fitness of his Belgian star ahead of that Eagles trip.
“We’ll see how he recovers after a long time injured,” he added.
“We’ll see how he feels in three days.”
