Pep Guardiola says City must find the extra ingredient needed to counter a lack of preparation time if we are to win the FA Cup Final.

Guardiola’s Blues were last in action in Wednesday’s 3-0 home win over Crystal Palace ahead of Saturday’s 15:00 (UK) Wembley showpiece.

Meanwhile, our opponents, Chelsea, have had a clear week since a 1-1 draw at Liverpool this past Saturday.
Guardiola insists games coming thick and fast in the calendar is the price you pay in pursuit of honours as he called on his players to hit the heights once again when it matters most.

“I would prefer seven days like Chelsea had but when you reach the final of the Carabao Cup and you win domestic trophies, you have less days,” he said.

“It happened in the past when we won the titles and it’s not necessary to remember.

“The schedule is what it is. Of course, it’s not ideal but it is what it is.

“We did it in the past and we have to do it tomorrow because the big clubs find that when you are in more difficult circumstances than the opponent you do extra to try to do it. And this is what you have to do. It’s simple.

“It’s not the perfect scenario to prepare for the final because we didn’t train absolutely anything since our last game against Crystal Palace.

“But it is what you have to do and we are going to try.”
