Andrée Jeglertz’s side were officially crowned champions on Wednesday when challengers Arsenal failed to beat Brighton.
Guardiola spoke glowingly of the Women’s team who have emerged victorious after six straight successes for Chelsea in the division.
The City men’s boss hopes it’s the first of many for the talented females.
“Huge compliment on behalf of the Men’s first team,” he said in his pre-match press conference.
“Today is a reality in world football, the impact of the woman’s game on society and the girls how much they enjoy to play football.
“Every national team look at England how good they’ve been and Barcelona from where I came from, the impact of the women’s team on all the girls in Catalonia is unbelievable.
“I think it’s the biggest step in world football in the last decade. You could never imagine the impact on girls and teenagers to want to play football. It’s fantastic.
“Of course, a big compliment, we know what Chelsea have done has been top, winning six leagues, we break that and I make a big compliment to them, the manager, the humans and everyone in the organisation.
“Hopefully it’s the first of many to come.”
