Pep Guardiola says everyone in his squad can make a ‘huge impact’ at any moment as he stressed the importance of those on the fringes to impact games in the days, weeks and months ahead.

Guardiola was hit with injury upon injury in the crucial period of the previous season before enjoying a renaissance in the closing weeks to finish third in the Premier League campaign and qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

The manager now has strength in depth at his disposal and believes that is vital as he eyes a successful term for the Blues.

“Absolutely,” the manager said when asked if had the squad to change games.

“You see the bench now, we have weapons to change systems and dynamics.

“The guys on the bench have to feel they are playing there. They have to play the game. “The players off the bench can make a huge impact.

“Last season, that couldn’t happen and it was the main reason. There were many reasons, but that was the main one.”
