Pep Guardiola is happy with how the season has panned out so far but believes there’s more to come from his ever-flourishing side.

City are currently second in the Premier League table, just two points behind Arsenal who are on the summit.

As well as that, the Blues are flying high in the Champions League, through to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup and set to embark on our FA Cup campaign in the New Year when we host Exeter City.

After a run of six victories in all competitions, too, Guardiola is immensely satisfied but admits there’s room for improvement still.

Asked whether he was enjoying life, the boss said: Yes but we can do better.

“I think we got results but there are a lot of things we need to do better.

“Still we are not in the position in the way we play that we should be. But it helps that the mentality and commitment is incredible and it helps us be there.

“Many things are positive but in the way we play we are not at the level required to compete to win the titles but the margin is there to improve and that is nice.”

Two matches of late have been especially noteworthy with Erling Haaland breaking the single-season Premier League scoring record in the May 2023 clash as he received a Guard of Honour from teammates after the game.

And then, a double from Phil Foden and a superb strike from Rodri ensured a 3-1 triumph over the Londoners in May 2024 on the final day of the season as we collected Four-in-a-Row Premier League titles.
