Guardiola’s City have had an unfamiliar pre-season, competing in the FIFA Club World Cup in the USA before enjoying a short break and returning to the CFA over the past three weeks in a bid to be fit and firing for the 2025/26 season.
This past weekend saw an impressive 3-0 triumph in a prestigious pre-season friendly at sister CFG club Palermo as the Blues fine-tuned form on the eve of our Molineux trip.
Now, as he gets set for his 10th season in Manchester and a 17:30 (UK) kick-off in the West Midlands on Saturday, Guardiola insists he and his players are relishing the challenges to come.
“We are ready,” he told assembled media.
“We make a short pre-season but it was a really good one.
“We are ready to enjoy the good moments and bounce back as soon as possible from the bad ones.”
City, who’d won the previous four Premier League titles before last season, struggled as injury problems plagued the squad throughout the campaign.
Nevertheless, the Blues charged back in the closing stages to guarantee Champions League football via a third-place finish.
Guardiola is confident this season will see improvement from his charges.
“Yes,” when asked if he thinks his team will be better this season.
“I can’t assure you but the signs are that we will be better.
“Maybe we can be worse! You never know. But I think we will be better.”
