Pep Guardiola has spoken of his delight at setting a new Club record for the most wins as City manager.

Our 1-0 win away at Chelsea, earned in style, saw Guardiola move ahead of Les McDowall, who secured 220 wins during his 13-year period as City boss, with one of his campaigns spent in the second tier.

And after the game, he said the record wasn’t simply his - it belonged to everyone who has played a part in our success since his arrival in 2016.

“I am so proud, “ he said. “What we have done in these five years - players, backroom staff and all at the club - working together to improve the club. It’s an honour.

“Hopefully we can make more [wins] and the next manager can come and break the record. It means we have won many games. It’s why we have won a lot of titles.”
