Pep Guardiola admitted he finds semi-finals a more challenging occasion then finals, as he explained why he cannot begin to think about the prospect of an all Manchester FA Cup final.

City face Arsenal in the first semi-final at Wembley on Saturday, whilst United will play Chelsea under the famous arch the following day.

An all Manchester final is a tantalising prospect, but Guardiola says he is solely focused on the Gunners as he revealed he finds last four ties difficult to manage.

“United have to beat Chelsea and we have to beat Arsenal and neither is easy,” he replied when asked for his thoughts on facing the Reds in the final.

“I am not even thinking for one second about this. I struggle a lot with semi-finals.

“Finals have been easier for me, I handle them much better.”

Guardiola also discussed why mentality is more important than tactics in a cup final and why the FA Cup is so popular in Spain.
