The Premier League Champions face Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, eager to gain a strong advantage to take to the Spanish capital next week.
Speaking ahead of the clash, the City boss spoke of the confidence he has in the squad, declaring he sleeps soundly in the nights leading up to big games, such is his belief.

“The adrenaline is addictive and you have to feel it. Normally, I don’t know why but I am more relaxed in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and even in the Final of the Champions League last season, I slept perfectly, I was so relaxed!” Guardiola said.
“I tried to feel it but I trust them completely. Sometimes, I push them, sometimes I am angry but it doesn’t mean I don’t trust them.
“If they felt the manager doesn’t trust them, they could not follow me. They know we have to do our best, otherwise we cannot beat the opponents.
“In this part of the season, there must be love. They must feel we love them. Sometimes, I’m not happy with what they do - I shout and move my hands - but that doesn’t mean I don’t give credit to the value they have.
“I’ve never scored a goal in my life as a manager. What I’m proud of most is the consistency - everything they’ve done in the last five or six seasons in this country.
“Of course, the dream to win the Champions League is always there. When we arrive in the last stages, it’s so difficult. I give a lot of credit to these players, a lot of credit.”
