Pep Guardiola says City will embark on our Champions League quarter-final decider away to Borussia Dortmund emboldened by the fact we have made history in already qualifying for next season’s showpiece.

Currently 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League, City have already ensured our qualification for next season’s Champions League for the 11th consecutive campaign – a feat no other English club has ever achieved.

And looking ahead to the tie with City holding a 2-1 first leg advantage, Guardiola pointed to the confidence and belief he had in his players after their record-breaking exploits of this season.

“We have an opportunity tomorrow. It’s a pleasure. And we are already the first team qualified for the Champions League,” the boss asserted at his pre-match press conference.

“So now, 11 years in a row we will be in the Champions League. No team in the Premier League has ever done 11 in a row, that is fantastic.

“After 27 wins in 29 games, if i don’t trust players we would have a big, big problem. I would be crazy.”
