Pep Guardiola has highlighted Nico O'Reilly's impact in our FA Cup quarter-final defeat of Bournemouth on Sunday.

City were a goal down at half time when Academy graduate O’Reilly was brought on to play left-back.

He needed just a few minutes to help us back to level terms, sliding a cross into the box for Erling Haaland to tap home.

O’Reilly was then crucial in the winning goal, pouncing on a loose ball and flicking it to Omar Marmoush to finish.

Bournemouth 1-2 City | Match report

It means we’ve reached the semi-final of the FA Cup for the seventh successive season, extending a record we set last year.

20-year-old O’Reilly has been a big part of this year’s run, playing in every match and contributing three goals and two assists.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Guardiola was full of praise for the No.75.

“Against Plymouth he scored two goals. Today, he made the assists,” he said.

“He played really good. He’s a number 10, we cannot forget.

“But he has the pace, he is so intelligent and quality with the ball.

“In the final third he has vision. He played really good and had an impact.”
