Pep Guardiola says his and City’s focus is solely trained on an ‘incredible’ next four or five weeks in the wake of the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s decision to overturn a two-year ban from the Champions League.

Following the decision, the boss was quizzed at his pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrow’s latest Premier League game at home to Bournemouth as to the potential long-term implications for his own future with his current contract running up until the summer of 2021.

However, Guardiola insisted his along with his players’ energies were solely trained on a decisive next few weeks, with City facing an FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal and a Champions League last 16 decider with Real Madrid.

“As a club as an organisation, the people cannot understand how difficult it was being under suspicion of what we have not done. Hopefully people can finish talking about this,” declared the City manager.

“Now is a normal situation like every season.

“We have an incredible four weeks ahead of us, preparing for the FA Cup against Arsenal and Madrid. If we are good enough we’ll play in the FA Cup final and after we’ll think about it.

“Now is not the time (to talk about his own contract). We have one month in front of us. One more year is a long, long time for a manager. I was happy before and I am now. We have time to talk about this.”
