Pep Guardiola says that Christian Eriksen joining Brentford is good news all-round.

The Danish midfielder suffered a cardiac arrest while representing his country at Euro 2020 and despite making a full recovery, left Inter Milan due to Serie A rules and regulations surrounding heart conditions.

The former Spurs playmaker joined the Bees on transfer deadline day after agreeing a six-month contract and though he won’t be involved against City, Guardiola admits he is delighted to see Eriksen playing football again.

“It’s great news he has come back to play a game he loves and do what he does well,” said Pep.

“The doctors take all measures to ensure he won’t suffer again.

“It’s good news for him, his family and Brentford.”
