Pep Guardiola has heaped praise on Saturday's opponents Brighton & Hove Albion, dubbing the Seagulls 'an exceptional team.'

Graham Potter’s side have enjoyed a fine start to the 2021/22 Premier League campaign, sitting fourth in the table with four wins and three draws from their opening eight games.

City’s last visit to the AMEX Stadium saw the south-coast outfit snatch a 3-2 win, having come from 2-0 down in a dramatic, topsy-turvy encounter but Guardiola asserts there is no desire for revenge.

“I enjoy watching Brighton,” he said. “They are an exceptional team.

“They are the same team [as last season. We are] absolutely not [looking for revenge]. In football, you win or lose.

“Last season, we were Champions. We were preparing to play the Final of the Champions League. Now, we are fighting to be Champions - there is a big difference.”
