Pep Guardiola says three defeats in a row for his City side hasn’t dampened the faith he has in his players.

City have lost to Tottenham in the Carabao Cup, Bournemouth in the Premier League and Sporting CP in the UEFA Champions League.

Despite that, the Blues are second in the top-flight after seven wins, two draws and that one defeat to leave us two points behind Liverpool while in the UCL we are just two spots and two points outside the qualification mark with four games remaining.

Guardiola was adamant that other than the loss to the Cherries – and a short spell in the win over Fulham - his champions have played well as he reiterated his confidence in his talented squad.

“If you tell me 20 minutes against Fulham was not good, if you tell me against Bournemouth it was not good, the rest of the games we were good.

“So we are good. We will see what happens.

“I have known them for nine years. They have proved many times what they are capable of so it doesn’t change the opinion I have of them.

“Sometimes it happens and you have to understand it.

“Of course we are not used to playing three games in three different competitions. It’s football, it’s happened.

“We know the reason why we struggle but we are looking forward to the game and after the international break, after that some players will be coming back better and recover and for all the problems that we have, little problems that every player has, we will solve it, I hope so.”
