Pep Guardiola has stressed the importance of the whole squad as we look to add the FA Cup and Champions League to the trophy cabinet in the closing weeks of the campaign.

Guardiola made nine changes to his starting XI for the game against Chelsea and watched on as City won the final home match of the season 1-0 and celebrated the Premier League title triumph.

Julian Alvarez, who bagged the winner, was one of the players who came into the side for the victory and Kalvin Phillips made his first top-flight start for City.

Stefan Ortega Moreno came in between the sticks, Aymeric Laporte and Sergio Gomez played in defence while Rico Lewis, Phil Foden, Cole Palmer and Riyad Mahrez also started.

Guardiola believes every member of his squad is integral to the success of the club as we hunt honours in two more competitions before the final curtain comes down on 2022/23 - the FA Cup against United on 3 June and the Champions League against Inter on 10 June.

Asked about the influence of the players who started against Chelsea from now until the end of the season, he said: “Everyone. The influence is everyone because sometimes five minutes is as important as the rest of the minutes.

“Everyone has been involved, some playing more minutes while others less minutes.

“But everyone has been involved to help us be where we are.”
