Pep Guardiola says he will need to see the schedule of the 2022 World Cup before figuring out how it will slot into next season's plans.

The manager. speaking to the media ahead of our trip to Stamford Bridge, was asked what he thought about Qatar 2022, which runs from 21 November to 18 December next year.

“Still I didn’t see the schedule,” said Pep.

“The World Cup is in the middle of the season - first time ever it happens. I haven’t analysed the impact.

“Everyone knows the teams involved in European competition, national teams - the calendar is brutal.

“We just have to adapt, train as best as possible, try not to get injured and give all the energy we have on the day of a game.”
