The 6-1 win over Wycombe in midweek saw Pep draw level with McDowall, but the Catalan has achieved the feat in almost eight years fewer.
The City boss has won an incredible 220 of his 302 games in charge, with an astonishing 72.8 win percentage and one more win – whenever it comes – will see him move ahead of McDowall’s 220, gained over a 13-year period.
Pep has also won 10 trophies as City manager – more than any other boss in our history.
“We will be so proud (when it happens),” said Pep.

“We did it in a short time. Many people have made this possible - especially all the players we had during this time.
“It would be a great milestone and an honour. All the time we spend together here.
“Sooner or later it will be beaten again, but records are nice.”
