City won a tough game against Crystal Palace 1-0 on Saturday, but Arsenal remain five points clear at the top of the table following their win against Fulham.
The City boss has the Gunners as favourites for the title and says past results are no indication of what will happen in the future, citing Liverpool’s defeat at Bournemouth at the weekend against a team they beat 9-0 earlier in the season as an example.
“If the experience works, the team who wins the previous season will win every single season,” he said.
CITY V RB LEIPZIG | MATCH PREVIEW
“Liverpool lost against Bournemouth, a few months ago, [they won] 9-0. Everything is so difficult and what they have done in the past is the past.
“Football is unpredictable, nobody expects many things to happen in football. People take it for granted and it’s not the truth.
“Still we are there, the way we behave in this typical winter game at Selhurst Park where always it’s difficult.
“The composure we had, the few chances we conceded and the desire to win the game because we want to be close to Arsenal, that is the best for my team.”
