Pep Guardiola said he felt fortunate to have the special quality of the likes of Kevin De Bruyne after the City midfielder maestro’s 100th Club assist helped pave the way for our 4-0 win over Crystal Palace

A stunning pass with the outside of De Bruyne’s right foot set up John Stones for the first of his brace with Ilkay Gundogan and Raheem Sterling also on target.

And reflecting on the win and the contribution of De Bruyne, Guardiola was effusive in his praise.

“What can I say again? The managers can help many many things, but the one thing we can’t is the talent up front,” the City boss declared.

“We are incredibly fortunate and lucky to be in charge with these kinds of players who make your life easier.

“In this kind of game the past two seasons we have struggled to beat them. Today I understand why.

“It is the quality of the players up front. This is a special thing, but the managers are not involved.”
