Pep Guardiola put Manchester City's recent impressive form down to the 'quality' and 'intelligence' of his players, ahead of our Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

City head into Saturday evening’s meeting with Spurs in record-breaking form, after a 3-1 FA Cup victory over Swansea City in midweek extended our winning run to 15 games in all competitions.

This incredible run has seen City stay on course for all four major trophies, after going to the top of the Premier League table, whilst also still competing in the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and UEFA Champions League.

The Catalonian boss believes the key component to his side’s recent successes comes from the quality of his players.

“The secret is to have good players,” he said at his pre-match press conference.

“A strong club with good players - there are no more secrets. You cannot do big things without big players and big players cost money.

“When people say Manchester City win because Pep spent money, I say this is true. Absolutely true. Without intelligent players, good skills, good quality, it is impossible.

“We work a lot, have a strong society that supports a lot and the most important thing is to have top, top talented players.

“Without that you can win and lose. In the big clubs that demand you win, win, win and win titles.”
