After a difficult week of fixtures, which saw City beat Manchester United (3-0), Napoli (2-0), and secure a 1-1 draw at Arsenal, the City boss credited the togetherness of his team that helped us see an upturn in results.
It is that spirit that has urged his players on in difficult moments, working as a cohesive unit to take on opposition which has got more difficult each season.
And ahead of our Carabao Cup trip to Huddersfield on Wednesday evening, Guardiola explained that every player is a key cog in the spirit of the team being at its optimum level in order to see the team succeed on the pitch.
“Have people around you that support you and the intention is always good,” began Guardiola.
“And being there. And that is the foundation all the time. It has been like that in teams; the foundation is the spirit, not the tactics.
“I spoke about it in the past, the biggest issues is how we are connected as a team in the bad moments and how we help each other.
“That is the principle for everything in life. And after, of course, you have your duty and push to do better.”
