Pep Guardiola has revealed Eric Garcia has refused a new contract at City.

The defender has played 19 times this season, forging a partnership with Aymeric Laporte at the heart of our defence.

However, he has made it clear he will not be extending his current deal.

“He announced to us he doesn’t want to extend his contract with City,” Pep said.

“He has one more year and then after that he doesn’t want to extend.

“We wanted to but he doesn’t want to. We imagine he wants to play in another place.”

Meanwhile, Guardiola took time to welcome our two new signings.

20-year-old Ferran Torres completed his move to City from Valencia on Tuesday, and he was swiftly followed by the arrival of Nathan Ake from Bournemouth.

“Welcome both of them - Ferran and Nathan,” he said. “Next season they will be with us.”
