Pep Guardiola says the level of performance from all his defenders is leaving him with a constant selection headache.

Manchester City are currently on a 23-match unbeaten run, during which we have conceded just six goals, whilst the shutout against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend equalled the Club record of seven consecutive clean sheets at home.

Squad rotation has seen Guardiola use each of his nine defenders in that period and he has been impressed with all of them.

“Always I have headache to choose the best XI,” he said ahead of City’s trip to Everton. “For sure.

“But it isn’t just about the back four. Last two games, Aymer [Laporte] was brilliant and especially John and Ruben were outstanding, but Joao [Cancelo] and [Benjamin] Mendy when he plays in the cup and Oleks [Zinchenko] and Kyle [Kyle Walker]. Everybody is doing well.

“Our secret it to be consistent and have a good game plan, try to attack as much as possible and try to win games.”
