Pep Guardiola insists City's excellent recent form is helping his players to get through our intense end-of-season schedule.

Guardiola‘s team are on a 21-match unbeaten streak across all competitions including 10 successive Premier League victories.

Tuesday night’s draw at Real Madrid means we’re now just one win from the Champions League final ahead of next week’s second leg at the Etihad Stadium.

Our run has also seen us book our place in the FA Cup final with Manchester United on 3 June.

Guardiola expecting tough test against Toffees

We next put our unbeaten run on the line against Everton at Goodison Park in a 14:00 (UK) kick-off in the Premier League on Sunday.

While the boss admits that the 11 matches since March’s international break have had an effect on his player’s energy levels, he does believe the promise of an historic season is keeping his squad motivated.

“Winning helps to be better. The mental recovery is better,” said Guardiola.

“Always I believe human beings have incredible substance to keep moving forward. If you believe you can. At the end of the season you have to refresh for next season. You can be tired, that’s normal.

“I said it many times to the players, you are tired I know. At the same time, if you desire and are in the right position, a human being can have incredible energy that they do not believe they have.”
