Pep Guardiola says he does not take City's Champions League progress for granted.

Our 3-1 victory over FC Copenhagen on Wednesday night saw us through to the quarter-finals for the seventh successive season.

The Catalan led us to an historic Treble last season and has claimed 16 major honours since arriving in Manchester.

Despite all of that success, Guardiola does not get complacent when he sees his side progressing to the latter stages of the game’s biggest competitions.

“For me, every time we get through in the group stages ‘wow’ because I know how difficult it is. I know how difficult it is,” he said.

“Everything is difficult. The Premier League is difficult. The FA Cup is difficult.

“People take it for granted now. It’s good but we know internally, the manager and the players, that everything is difficult.

“This is what I want my club to feel, from the hierarchy, the people working here, the players - that everything is complicated.

“Still we are there in all competitions. It’s really good.”
