Pep Guardiola has urged his team to stay positive as City look to get back on track with the Manchester derby on the horizon.

The Blues went down 2-0 to Juventus in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday and next up is United on Sunday in the Barclays Premier League.

The manager insists the dressing room remains calm despite the frustrating European result and he’s eager for his players to stand up and be counted as Ruben Amorim’s men arrive at the Etihad this weekend.

“The dressing room was stable,” he said post-match.

“We’re happy when we win and when we don’t we are not. It’s normal.

“We have to stand up so what else can you do? Feel sorry for yourselves. Prove it and we will go forward.

“What has happened, that is life. It happened.

“We have to accept it like a normality that sometimes we have bad periods with results and we’re going to insist, insist, insist until the end.

“Tomorrow recovery and then a day off. We’ll prepare the game against United to play in front of our people and we will try to insist on the good things we do and improve what we can do better.”
