The Portugal defender was thrust into Premier League action after only a couple of training sessions with his new team-mates and Guardiola was particularly impressed with his display at Elland Road.
“He made his debut after two training sessions and away at Leeds not the easiest start,” said the City boss when asked about Dias.
“But he was outstanding, he gave us a sense of maturity, led the line. We are happy with his performance.”
Guardiola was left ruing missed opportunities as City were forced to settle for a share of the points in a pulsating game.
Raheem Sterling opened the scoring as the visitors made a strong start, but Leeds rallied and equalised when Rodrigo scrambled home from a corner.
