Following the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 draw, the City boss discussed how the opportunity to play the best teams in Europe can take his squad to the next level.
We have already faced Real Madrid this season as we came head-to-head at the Bernabeu in December.
It was a game which saw City come out as 2-1 victors despite being a goal down, thanks to goals from Nico O’Reilly and Erling Haaland.
Including that tie, we’ve played the Spanish giants in each of the last five seasons and six of the last seven and despite this Guardiola said it’s still an opportunity to develop and build our experience.
“For our club, as much as we play against the best teams in this competition we’ll learn and improve and you are better in the future.”
