The Norwegian scored twice in the 3-1 victory over Leicester City as we extended our winning streak to 10 matches and cut the gap on leaders Arsenal to three points ahead of their game against West Ham on Sunday.
Haaland scored his 45th City goal in Tuesday night’s 3-0 win over Bayern Munich, meaning he had scored more in a single season for a Premier League club than anyone has ever managed before.
That total is now 47 while he has 32 goals in the Premier League alone, equalling Mohamed Salah’s record for most league goals in a 38-game season.
He also moved closer to the overall Premier League record of 34 set by Andy Cole in 1993/94 and matched by Alan Shearer the following season.
Asked about Haaland’s records, Guardiola said: “I want, I desire that he breaks all the records possible because if he scores a lot of goals that means it helps us.
“It’s impressive and we still have eight or 10 games and he’s close to breaking all of them.”
Haaland has scored in his last six appearances with his last 16 goals coming from just 21 attempts on goal.
“I don’t know all the statistics I don’t know it - you inform to me,” Guardiola added. “All I can say is it is impressive.”
