The Manchester City boss believes the Portugal international has the ability and knowhow to perform in numerous positions on the pitch, including a defensive role in midfield.

Bernardo scored for the first time this season as he netted a brace in the 3-0 win over Birmingham City on Sunday and Guardiola has been encouraged by his performances in recent weeks.
“Bernardo is so intelligent,” he said at his pre-match press conference ahead of City’s game against Brighton.
“He can play everywhere, even holding midfielder. He is too clever. He understands the game perfectly. He understands each position he has to play.
“He is back. I am incredibly delighted with the two goals because he was fighting to score and we need him.
“I am more than delighted with what he has done in the last three to five games.”
