Pep Guardiola jokingly pleaded with Cheltenham Town not to leave any beer in the bar area of the Johnny-Rocks Stadium that Manchester City will use as a changing room on Saturday.

COVID-19 restrictions will force City to get ready for the FA Cup fourth round tie in a hospitality area when we face the League 2 outfit, but Guardiola says it is the sort of situation all of his players have experienced previously.

“We have played in these stadiums in all our careers” he explained. “We haven’t always played on the biggest stage.

“We were lucky to have success in our profession and get up the divisions.

“It is a pleasure to play there. We changed in the bars when we were boys and played with incredible joy.

“All I ask from Cheltenham is, don’t leave beers in the bar before the game, please!

“We are delighted to change in the bar, but please no alcohol in there, because we want to win the game and we want the perfect warm-up to be in the perfect condition.”
