Pep Guardiola admitted he is surprised Manchester City have been able to maintain such consistent form in a period in which the world has been turned upside down by the Coronavirus pandemic.

City’s 2-1 victory over West Ham United was our 20th consecutive win in all competitions and moved us 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League.

The Club has had a number of players test positive for COVID-19 during that sequence and with the pandemic providing additional challenges both in football and everyday life, Guardiola is amazed his side have been able to record such a remarkable winning streak.

“Everyone is so committed and focused,” he said after the West Ham game.

“Every player knows they must play good because another can take his position.

“I am surprised. In the toughest year for society and the world, and the most difficult year for many years across the world, and in the toughest period in England with weather and pitches - to do what we have done is amazing.

“But we don’t have titles, we are going to try.”
