City’s 3-0 triumph over Brentford moved us within two points of the Gunners in top spot with just three matches remaining before the champions are crowned.
Guardiola accepts that Mikel Arteta’s men are in pole position as it stands but wants victory over Crystal Palace on Wednesday ahead of our final double away at Bournemouth and home to Aston Villa as we go for glory.
“I don’t know. We are fighting with quite similar with Liverpool in the past against a colossal team,” he said of the battle for honours.
“In the final of the Champions League, they didn’t lose one game in the competition and top of the league almost all season.
“It’s not in our hands now. They have to drop points but all we can do is on Wednesday win again, play the final of the FA Cup and Bournemouth and right now I would say Bournemouth is not the best place to go and Aston Villa the last one.
“Our calendar is really demanding. It’s just two weeks and a day and the season will be over.
“The spirit I’ve seen - I don’t how many games we’ve won in the last 10-11 games - except Everton we won everything.
“This is the team. At the end you can lose and if you lose you lose.
“But we try to do our job and see what happens.”

Guardiola added that he’s thoroughly enjoying fighting for honours again after a frustrating season last time out when we finished third after a late charge.
There’s the small matter of an FA Cup final next weekend too as we take on Chelsea and the classy Catalonian boss is relishing that showpiece occasion too.
“I love to be here again,” he added.
“Finish second again this season minimum. I didn’t enjoy last season when we were fighting to qualify for the Champions League it was so difficult.
“I love it. Carabao Cup in our pocket, play the FA Cup final at Wembley which is the most beautiful game of the game. I love it. I’m so happy.”
