Guardiola is the longest-serving manager in the Premier League as he closes in on a decade of service for the Blues.
In that time he’s won 18 major trophies and helped create Centurions, Fourmidables, Treble Winners, Champions of the World and History Makers.
Last term, however, proved frustrating overall despite a fine finale to land Champions League football for a 15th successive season.
The manager wants to see improvement from his players and his team this season and says this is fuelling him for the challenges ahead.
“I still have the feeling and energy with the team and players to make it a better season than last season,” the manager said to media at his press conference.
CITY V EVERTON | MATCH PREVIEW
“This is my target. I’m not sitting here in October, November, December saying we’ll win this and win that. Honestly, I don’t know what will happen tomorrow against Everton.
“But the truth is before the last international break we were far away from the top of the league and now we’re closer.
“We want to continue that and arrive at the last stages of the competitions being close.
“This is the target we have and what I said, I think we’re doing much, much better than last season and every game we’re a bit better.
“This is the margin that we can do better in many, many aspects.
“That gives me energy, it’s not job done, it’s completely unfinished business, which is why I’m here.”
