Pep Guardiola says Erling Haaland is showing great dedication in maintaining his fitness this season.

Haaland has been involved in every game in this campaign, minus the Carabao Cup matches with Watford and Tottenham where he was rested.

Against the backdrop of several injuries to key players this term, Guardiola has been impressed with the way our No.9 has kept his conditioning high via sessions at the CFA.

“Erling the year before he arrived here, already three or four years ago, he had problems at Dortmund,” the manager said to media at his press conference.

“But since he arrived, always except one period a little bit, the other was so consistent in terms of injuries and he is fit.

“The year of the Treble was amazing. Last season he scored goals but he struggled a little.

“This year, I had a feeling he is incredibly focused. When you have a focus and your target is to be fit, always you are fit.

“Our physio takes care of him really well. He spends a lot of time here, that’s why he’s ready.

“With the amount of situations we should use him more than we expect but he handles it really well.”
