Two late goals from the 25-year-old helped round off an emphatic 5-1 Premier League victory at home to Burnley.
The brace took Erling’s overall tally for the season for both club and country to 13.
What’s more, the goals also saw him both enter the top ten of all-time City scorers and also overtake Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to become the leading all-time Norwegian scorer in the Premier League.
Erling now has 133 City goals in total, of which 93 have come in the league.
Reflecting on both the man and the manner of City’s win, which also featured a brace of Maxime Esteve own goals along with a thunderous Matheus Nunes strike, the boss paid fulsome tribute to Haaland.
“His numbers are insane. We joke but the numbers are incredible,” the City boss declared in his post-match press conference.
“It’s his job [to score goals]. He’s an important figure for us.
“[Burnley keeper Martin] Dubravka made good saves but we always have the feeling he can score.
“Sometimes he would maybe not be so involved but still have four clear chances. Erling is that.
“I am really pleased since the United game that we show another way with our body language even when not playing well, that’s the key for everything.”
